Cafeteria/Food Services

The District is required to provide increased servings of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains while limiting sodium, fat, and total protein. In addition, under the Paid Lunch Equity Provision, the District must make progress toward raising the price for a paid lunch to equal the Federal reimbursement amount for a free lunch. A la carte prices will be posted in the cafeterias.

In addition to lunch, breakfast is offered daily at all schools!

Free and Reduced Price School Meals Program

Children need healthy meals in order to learn. Iroquois School District offers healthy meals every school day. Your children may qualify for free meals or reduced priced meals if your household’s gross income falls at or below the limits on the Federal Income Guidelines. Students directly certified through the state are automatically eligible for free and reduced price meals. Parents will be notified if their child is directly certified through a letter mailed home before the start of school. Families, whose child is directly certified, DO NOT need to complete an application.

Iroquois School District has introduced PrimeroEdge for processing student eligibility for free and reduced price meals. Please consider completing the application if a student/family qualifies. The PA Department of Education utilizes this eligibility data when awarding grant monies to school districts. All of the children of the District can benefit from grants or special programs if an accurate number is reported. We encourage parents to apply online at

Or you can download and print the paper application packet HERE. Once completed, please return it to the Iroquois School District Administration Office, 800 Tyndall Avenue, Erie, PA 16511.

If your child received free or reduced meals last school year, his/her benefits will be extended for 30 operating days of this school year. You must complete a new application by October 11th unless the school notified you that your child was directly certified for this school year. Note that high school students must pay the full price for lunch until they are approved for free/reduced priced meals. Once approved for free/reduced meals, previous charges are not nullified. Also, all eligible kindergarten students must have an application on file before receiving free or reduced meals even though a sibling may have received them last school year.

Cafeteria Accounts

Individual cafeteria accounts are assigned to each student for accounting purposes for the purchase of meals served in school cafeterias. Our food service utilizes the PrimeroEdge system for managing student accounts. Procedures for purchasing and collecting money for individual student accounts are in place that ensure that the identity of each student and their information is protected. Students may not use another student’s account to purchase a meal or a la carte items.

Iroquois Elementary School Elementary students may deposit money in advance on the first day of each week for a la carte items. All students have an account, which can be accessed by providing the food service cashier with their name. Please review the guidelines listed below:

  • Students may pay on their account at any time;
  • If a student has charges, the system will pay off these charges first and then give the student credits (if the student has money left over);
  • Students may not charge snack items.

Iroquois High School - In order to activate a high school student account, each student has a 8-digit school ID number at the cashier checkout line. The student will enter his/her number on a keypad, which then brings up their individual account.

With the PrimeroEdge system, parents/guardians will have access to their child's account information, including account balances and purchases, make secure online payments at any time at

  • Set up hassle-free automatic payments for each student.
  • Receive low balance email messages.

Lunch Charge Policy

Cafeteria Account Flag Form

If you, as the parent/guardian, specifically do not want your child to use his/her cafeteria account for services or purchases, we can place a flag on his/her account that will restrict those choices. Please complete a Cafeteria Account Flag Form, which will be passed out in homerooms, and return it to the Food Service Office. Your child’s account will be adjusted according to your wishes.
