From Mrs. Cadden: We are just 10 days away from wrapping up this year’s Kids Heart Challenge! We are making great progress towards our school goal and so many students are choosing to move more and be kind during Heart month. Next Wednesday, March 1st, we will wrap up with awesome activities during specials and on Thursday, March 2nd, we will hold our sliming event for those who have raised $150 or more. Mr. MacKelvey and School Resource Officer, Officer Lapping, invited 3 Pennsylvania State Police Troopers from the CSI (Crime Scene Investigation) Unit of Lawrence Park Station E into Bravesburgh Thursday, where Super Scientists learned how to process a crime scene, examine fingerprints, and learn what career-readiness skills are necessary to become a Pennsylvania State Trooper

Parents of elementary age students interested in flag or tackle football; there will be an informational meeting on Monday Feb 13th @ 6 pm in the High School Cafeteria. This meeting will be a chance for Iroquois Parents to receive information on the upcoming fall season, sign a letter of interest for their child, and get involved in the planning process.

Hello Kids Heart Heroes! This year’s Kids Heart Challenge is officially underway. On Monday, your child received an envelope containing information for our fundraiser and initiative. Today IES was thrilled to celebrate the academic success of close to 50 students who completed an intervention program in either ELA or Math! Our Interventionists and AmeriCorps Members hosted the event which featured a taco bar provided by The Nutrition Group. Way to go IES students!

We are so excited for our 3rd grade students to showcase their hard work this evening with a presentation of “On with the Snow.” Doors open at 5:45 for both parents and families! We can’t wait to see you here tonight! They were able to give our PreK through 2nd grade students a preview in school today and did a wonderful job!

On with the Snow the Musical will be presented by the 3rd graders at Iroquois Elementary on Thursday, January 19, 2023 at 6:00PM in the IES gymnasium. This is a free event. The students are looking forward to presenting this fun show for their families! Highlights from the production include a bigfoot sighting, rapping shovelers, and all our talented third grade students who still have warm hearts, even though the temperatures are cold. See you there!
