Iroquois Elementary School

SUMMER CAMP/INTERVENTIONIST TEACHERS

Location: Iroquois Elementary School

Teachers needed in each discipline listed beginning June 25th through July 25th (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 8AM-12PM) for summer intervention/wellness opportunities for students entering grades 1 through 6. Students attend 3 hours daily and teachers are compensated 4 hours daily at the contracted rate. Additional classrooms will be considered based on teacher availability and student enrollment. Requirements: PA teaching certificate in the respective grade level. Selected teachers will be provided with orientation/workday to prepare for students' arrival.

  • 2 teachers for students in grades 1 & 2

  • 2 ELA teachers for students in grades 3-6

  • 2 Math teachers for students in grades 3-6

  • 2 Specialist Teachers, or Teachers willing to plan and deliver wellness instruction within their certification area

Bus Monitor

Location: District-wide

ISD is accepting applications for multiple bus monitors/cafeteria monitors for the 2022-2023 school year.  High school diploma required. Prior experience with elementary/secondary age students a plus. Responsibilities will include arriving on time for each workday; supervise students as they ride the bus to/from school; create seating chart for each bus run. Accompany students to cafeteria and return to classrooms after obtaining lunches; maintain order in cafeteria/classrooms. Ensure social distancing requirements, face masks, and use of hand sanitizer, ensure cleanliness of area assigned. Enforce bus/cafeteria rules and procedures.

Immediate need for an AmeriCorps Member at our elementary school. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide academic assistance and/or service-learning activities to students with grades K-6.

  • Provide intensive progress monitoring to help inform and refine instruction and intervention for students.

  • Deliver targeted Standardized Test preparation and remediation to students.

  • Provide homework help and study skills instruction.

  • Utilize a combination of interventions provided by the school staff to deliver individualized remediation and support.

What will I be doing while serving? SCHOOL-BASED Positions: Members provide focused academic assistance, one-on-one/small group instruction, RTI Model, Credit Recovery, Title 1 remediation and support, Standardized Test preparation, STEM activities, and progress monitoring. Services take place in before, during, and after-school programming in a public or private school settings. COMMUNITY-BASED (Non-Profit) Positions: Members provide academic support services, mentoring, STEM activities and service learning in alternative education, early childhood, and/or after-school programs.
  
What is the commitment and hour requirements? Members selected to serve in School Districts will commit to a full-time schedule averaging 40 hours /wk. for a minimum of 1700 hours. Members selected to serve in Community Based Non-Profit Organizations will commit to a less than full-time capacity in either a half-time (900 hours) or reduced half-time (675 Hours) with a less than full time schedule averaging 20-30 hrs/wk.
